EnB NNTP

EnB NNTP is a very lightweight and simple Perl TK news client. Currently, the client will download article headers, and messages. You can read the message. Groups are added by hand. Double click from list. Also planned for the next release are Next/Back buttons to navigate through the articles. The zip package includes the enbnntp.pl. nntpreadme, and a default newsgroups.txt (which houses the static newsgroups.) Four files will be built after using the program for a bit, newscache.dat, bodycache.dat, headers.dat and newsconf.ini. the Dat files write/rewrite article information, and the ini file houses user/passwd/news server info. The password is currently held in clear text.
Most scripts are free or open source. But some have the full source code available for download yet itīs required to have permission to use them and most often the price will be listed. If there is a script license e.g. GNU or GPL then it will also be listed. |
